Yew* |
The yew
is a loosend up broad coniferous tree. In the temperate climate zone the
yew became very rarly and is therefore protected. It carries
berries of bright red colour which are no real berries in botanical
sense. In the mountain regions the tree has a
particulary high trunk, in the gardens it grows usually low. The wood is
auburn in the core, and yellowish in the narrow sapwood. Freshly dried
the wood is a little violett, later it changes in a full warm auburn
tone. The wood is relativly well to be worked on. |
