Grass tree roots

The gras tree is resident in Australia. With his tuft from narrow grass-like looking hanging sheets and the scarcely branched trunk, the tree is one of the typical represantatives of the australian flora. The grass tree is a "survival artist", that is standing strong even against fire, because its branch point lies  deeply protected inside the chunk. There are ca. 30 species of grass trees. The trees grow very slowly. For the wood turner especially the root is an interesting material.
