Veined wood shows very interesting "wild " structures. The pattering originates from an anomaly in the process of growth with strongly changed wood structures. They develop through heaped up preventive knots, so called "sleeping eyes", which are always interrupted in the process of growth and will be "overgrown". Thatīs why knots are given  as a result in the roots (root veined tubers) or the chunk region (veined chunk). Because this kind of special growth form is very rarly to find, the veined wood is also very valuable. Because of the irregular structure the veined wood is difficult to be dried so that at least it is very difficult to avoid the forming of some tiny fissure.

The quality of the wood is dependend on the amount and size of the fissures and bark knots, as well as the intensity of streaked patering. For this reason, the veined wood has basicly a price span.
