The shell horse chestnut is an endemic deciduous tree. The wood has a pale yellow to bright brown colour. The wood is very lightweight, that´s why it's suitable also for wood carvers. By a special growth a wavy form of wood fibre originates, which gives a special bright-dark-contrast to the wood. |
